Quick progress update - the upcoming GMAT quantitative aptitude test

We thought we'd give you a little progress update on the 2 upcoming tests we mentioned in our previous post - happy to say that we have reached a stage of reviewing the questions. We have about 40 questions now that we hope to split to 2 tests of 20 questions each.

The idea of having 2 GMAT style tests is to give our members not only a chance to get an idea of how GMAT tests will be, but also give a slightly different type of practice to get those 'quant skills' up-to-speed.

Reviewing the questions isn't all the hard - but it's surprising (as we found during our other tests) that a couple of mistakes always slip through. We had our members report 3 incorrect solutions in 190 - that's a 2% error rate, oh the horror! We'd like it be 0 and that's what we want to aim for.

We suspect the first GMAT test will be out in 2 weeks. At this point we're not sure if we want to expand our tests to GMAT - time will tell. We have other things planned.

Keep in mind that doing GMAT style quantitative tests will require high school level geometry, algebra and number theory - it's not just about additions and subtractions.
